The sensor is tested with SkyNet3D firmware 2.3.2 to 2.4.5.
The sensor works with 5 volt provided with the Anet v1.0 board.
The sensor triggers about under 2mm which is about thickness of two credit cards. Unplug your z-stop plug, and plug this sensor in place of z-stop socket.
I installed it about 1mm(1 credit card) above the nozzle tip, by moving the nozzle to center of the bed and moving down until touching a piece paper(bank statement) between nozzle and bed, then raising the sensor 1 credit card thickness above the bed.
Make sure the red LED is on when you move the nozzle up.
If not, you want to move the sensor down until it triggers.
When the sensor is triggered, the red LED will turn on, and use gcode M119 in the terminal to verify it before you start the auto leveling process.
The mounting plate is to install in the back of A8 printer.
The sensor will not work with the default firmware comes with the machine.
You will need to flash it with SkyNet3D firmware to be able to use the auto leveling sensor.
This sensor will not work with a glass bed, because the glass is thicker than 2mm.
The nozzle will crash into the glass before the sensor triggers.
This is an auto level sensor for the Anet A8 or other Prusa i3 Models. The sensor will work with any other Marlin firmware based board, but you will need to print supporting bracket yourself.
Comes with a mounting plate and an assembled connector so no wiring is needed, just unplug the original z stop and plug in sensor and screw into the back of printer. Also comes with 2 of M3x30 screws for mounting the plate to the back of nozzle assembly.
Use "stock sensor" configuration.h file to compile your firmware. If you have A8 printer, here is the probing positions for 220x220 bed.
//Probe offsets
#define X_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER 18 // X offset: -left +right [of the nozzle]
#define Y_PROBE_OFFSET_FROM_EXTRUDER 58 // Y offset: -front +behind [the nozzle]
#define LEFT_PROBE_BED_POSITION 15
#define RIGHT_PROBE_BED_POSITION 210
#define BACK_PROBE_BED_POSITION 205
#define FRONT_PROBE_BED_POSITION 4
